Change The Game in schools
We’ve welcomed an incredible 831 volunteers to help deliver our Change The Game programme across schools and workplaces in the past 12 months.
Every week, volunteers join us in primary schools across the UK to help deliver our Change The Game programme. They make learning fun, spark children’s curiosity about money, and help build lasting money confidence in young learners.

Change The Game in workplaces
We also take primary school children into the offices of our corporate partners. These visits inspire young learners by introducing them to the world of work — meeting new people, exploring career options, and seeing what’s possible beyond their usual environment. For volunteers, it’s a unique chance to connect with the next generation and show them the variety of paths available to them.
Understanding Money & Work days
In the past 12 months, 49 volunteers have delivered 207.5 hours of Understanding Money & Work days.
Welcoming children and young adults into their offices, volunteers have shared their professional experience to open young people’s eyes to money, careers and their own potential.
Rewarding, educational and well structured. Was able to share my experience and tell the students about a job role they hadn't heard of before (compliance). Rewarding being able to inspire the younger generation.UMWM volunteer
Money Ready Mini
13 volunteers have delivered 75.5 hours of Money Ready Mini sessions this past year.
Through short bitesize sessions, volunteers help young learners identify text scams. Teaching children this important topic at a point when they are transitioning to independence and might have access to their first mobile phone, volunteers help build confidence around money at key moments. We were delighted to deliver Money Ready Mini sessions this past year at the London Transport Museum and Natural History Museum!
“Volunteering last week was a rewarding experience. I enjoyed delivering part of the activity and engaging with the Year 6 students about mobile phone scams. It was great to see their enthusiasm and curiosity. From this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of financial education at a young age. It was fulfilling to contribute to their learning and awareness about such a relevant topic.” – Jessica, Money Ready Mini volunteer
Share Your Skills
Over the past 12 months, 8 volunteers have delivered 21.5 hours of Share Your Skills sessions.
Helping to enhance the Money Ready team’s knowledge and upskill in key areas, volunteers have delivered insightful presentations and webinars to the whole team and enabled us to improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
Topics have included gambling and gaming, financial scams, pensions and workplace skills like project management and using AI.
Grant panels
41 volunteers have delivered 75.5 hours reviewing 227 grant applications this past year, supporting our Brummie Bursary, Wee Bursary and Saffron Grant.
Offering bursaries to young people to give them quick and easy support at a time when they need it most, young people have been invited to apply for a bursary which volunteers have dedicated time to reviewing and approving.
It really gave me an insight into the position that young people find themselves in, and just how much some people are in need.UMWM volunteer
Innovation Challenge
In February this year, 19 volunteers joined us to contribute 64.5 hours at our inaugural Innovation Challenge.
Volunteers came together to help us create new financial education content for our secondary school age programmes. Volunteers spent the day creating gamified content for young people, helping to make topics like budgeting, saving, and investing more accessible and engaging. Read more about the event.
Thank you to all our volunteers who have supported Money Ready whether now or in the past. Your time, skills, and passion make a real difference to the young people we work with, and we couldn’t do what we do without you.
