About the partnership
Since 2022, Aberdeen Group has been supporting Money Ready’s young adult work, providing financial education to 16-25-year-olds in vulnerable circumstances across the UK. This partnership has enabled Money Ready to strengthen our work with young adults from priority groups, particularly those at risk of homelessness, those facing systemic barriers to education and employment, and those living independently for the first time.
Now in a renewed funding cycle for 2025–28 worth £751k through Aberdeen Group Charitable Trust, the support is allowing us to reach even more young people at key transitional points in their lives, where access to financial education can have a lasting impact on their confidence and ability to make informed financial choices. Beyond grant funding, Aberdeen Group contributes employee volunteering, drives policy and public affairs activity, and supports programme innovation – making this a partnership that creates impact well beyond what funding alone could achieve.
The social change the partnership seeks to drive is ambitious: reducing economic inequality, strengthening financial resilience, and breaking intergenerational cycles of poor financial literacy. This is a partnership built on shared values, genuine flexibility, and a determination to go beyond transactional funding, and the results reflect that.
What the shortlisting means to us
Leon Ward, CEO of Money Ready, said:
“Being shortlisted for this award is a reflection of what a truly values-led partnership looks like in practice. Aberdeen Group has never just been a funder, they’ve been a genuine partner in our mission, bringing their people, their influence and their belief in the power of financial education to everything we do together. This recognition belongs to every young person we’ve reached, and to everyone at Aberdeen Group who has made that possible.”
Kristina Church, Chair of the Aberdeen Group Charitable Trust and Group Head of Sustainability at Aberdeen Group plc, said:
“We are immensely proud of our partnership with Money Ready and the impact it is making. Their work is helping to break down barriers to financial inclusion, giving young people the skills and confidence they need to navigate key life transitions. This recognition shines a light on the values we care deeply about at the Trust, and it means a great deal to our colleagues who champion this mission every day. Money Ready has achieved something truly meaningful, and we are honoured to stand alongside them.”
